Cheaper online organic stores
To shop exclusively for organic products, there’s no need to break the bank anymore. Online groceries now offer very attractive rates for their members, allowing them to quickly make their investment worthwhile.
Good news, because according to our survey on French eating habits during confinement, more French people want to consume organic but it’s still often reserved for the affluent categories.
Far from being limited to food products, these groceries offer a wide range of items, from cosmetics to household products – all organic, without non-natural additives or GMOs.
Some are stronger than others in certain product segments, offering or not offering bulk or fresh products.
2 of these 3 sites require an annual subscription. So choosing the one that best suits our consumption habits is crucial because to make the investment profitable, the ideal is to concentrate all your organic purchases on a single platform.
#1. La Fourche : the subscription-based organic leader 🥇
La Fourche
With more than 4000 organic products, La Fourche, through subscription, positions itself on all organic segments: bulk food products, canned goods, ecological grocery, hygiene, health, hair care and many others.
Lucas Lefebvre and Nathan Labat, the co-founders of the grocery, made the bet in 2018 to forego any direct margin, relying solely on annual membership fees.
Member customers benefit from 25 to 50% discounts on their purchases with, according to La Fourche, an average of 300 euros saved per year. A simulator is available on the website to calculate potential savings.
Each membership (59.90 euros per year) at the grocery allows offering a membership to a household in precarious situations, particularly in the neighborhood where it is located.
La Fourche has launched its own brand with more than a hundred products. For each new product, the company involves its community to decide on its features, price, carbon impact…
It should be noted that the parcels are made of 100% recycled and recyclable materials, and the bulk is bagged by employees from the ESAT des Muguets or young people in reintegration.
The company also launched zero-waste home delivery shopping with glass consignment (currently available in Paris and a few departments).
La Fourche is part of the Impact France Movement and of the collective that launched the Eco-score alongside Yuka, among others.
La Fourche is funded to the tune of several tens of millions of euros, and bought out its competitor Aurore Market in 2022.

Our opinion
We ranked La Fourche number 1 considering its leading position, the quality of its own-brand products, and its innovations, particularly in sustainable development. Moreover, deliveries are free from €49 purchase, compared to €69 at Kazidomi, the main competitor.

#2. Kazidomi : the outsider
Kazidomi
Kazidomi is the story of Emna Everard, its young founder from Belgium, the daughter of a nutrition expert who taught her to eat healthily from an early age. In 2016, after studying business, Emna decided to create her own online organic grocery store. Its name means “feeling good at home” in Latin.
The idea was “to open a supermarket where you can shop with your eyes closed,” she says. After an initial fundraising of 50,000 euros in 2017, the young grocery store has continued to grow stronger, with 450,000 euros raised in 2018, and more than a million at the start of 2020.
Here too, the products offered are much cheaper than elsewhere (up to 50% off), but are reserved for members (membership of 59€ / year).
Beyond organic food products, you can find everything on Kazidomi: cleaning products, cosmetics, and even items to meet baby’s needs. All products are sourced from exclusively organic processes.
The grocery store has its own brand, featuring for example a range centered around the world of coconut. The products come from a producer in Sri Lanka, with sustainable farming and revenue redistribution to the village community.
In 2019, Kazidomi received the “B-corporations” label, which rewards companies working for the world of tomorrow (2,700 companies worldwide). These companies must meet strict criteria based on social, environmental, governance, etc.

Our opinion
Kazidomi is an excellent alternative to La Fourche, and offers perfectly similar features (bulk, number of references, sustainable development..). However, customer reviews are less positive, and the delivery costs are slightly higher.
We particularly like the site design and the browsing and shopping experience.
#3. Greenweez: the largest choice
Greenweez
Greenweez was founded in 2008 by Romain Roy. It is the historic organic e-commerce in France.
The online organic store offers over 125,000 organic products, eco-friendly and sustainable. There is no membership system, so prices are roughly the same as other organic stores.
Greenweez is now a marketplace, which means the site sells direct products, but also offers products from other merchants. Delivery can therefore be handled by Greenweez or its partner, depending on the choice of products.
Greenweez became a mission-driven company in 2021, and incorporated its continuous improvement objectives into its statutes to maximize its activity while respecting CSR principles.
The site offers bulk as well as fresh products with refrigerated delivery.

Our opinion
The main advantage of Greenweez is that you can find everything there. The number of references is very large (but is it necessary?), the site offers bulk and fresh products… However, prices are higher than subscription organic stores and delivery is always paid.
