Best Organic Maca: Our Opinion
We analyzed 7 maca brands and chose Dynveo’s organic maca capsules.
Our Selection Criteria
- Concentration: This refers to the concentration of the extract used in the supplement. The higher this number, the higher the concentration of active ingredients. An extract with a 5:1 ratio means that 5 kg of raw material is required to obtain 1 kg of extract.
- Extraction Method: This can be “full spectrum,” meaning all active ingredients of the maca are extracted, or classic, focusing on extracting certain active ingredients. The full spectrum method is recommended as it is richer.
- Price per Capsule: This is the price for 1 capsule of 500 mg.
- Customer Reviews: This average of customer reviews about the brand comes from the laboratory’s website, review platforms, or marketplaces like Amazon.
- Our Opinion on the Brand: Following the tests of supplement brands we conduct every month and the analysis of 6 criteria such as transparency and expertise.
All selected supplements below are certified organic, packaged in France, with certified Peruvian origin, and without excipients.
BEST ORGANIC MACA
Brand: Dynveo
Concentration: 11:1
Extraction Method: full-spectrum
Price per Capsule: €0.32
Customer Reviews : 4.8/5 (Avis-Vérifiés.com)
We selected this maca in capsules because the concentration of the extract used is higher than many products on the market. The 11:1 ratio means 11 kg of maca is needed to obtain 1 kg of extract, which ensures optimal efficacy on the body.
Moreover, the extraction process is called “full-spectrum“, meaning it is water-extracted without chemicals, containing the full range of maca’s active ingredients.
Finally, the maca is cultivated on the high plateaus of the Peruvian Andes and is certified organic.
Dynveo is a supplement laboratory renowned for the concentration of active ingredients in its products. We tested and approved its customer service, which is responsive and relevant (read our full test here to learn more).

What are the benefits of maca?
A Plant Consumed by the Incas
Like lucuma, maca (Lepidium Meyenii) was also consumed by the Incas. This plant belongs to the Brassicaceae family, like cabbage or turnip. It grows at high altitudes and is typical of puna, an ecoregion of the Andes with a cold and very dry climate.
Maca produces an edible tuber with a slight nutty flavor and is particularly rich in nutrients. It is traditionally consumed raw, cooked, or dried, integrated into savory, sweet preparations, or drinks. Today, however, maca tuber is mainly marketed as a dietary supplement, in powder, capsule, or liquid extract form.

Stimulates libido and enhances cognitive functions
Maca is one of the essential superfoods to combat fatigue and boost the body. Thanks to its high content of proteins, vitamins, and minerals, it is highly energizing and improves physical performance.
Maca is also a powerful aphrodisiac that is said to have beneficial effects on libido. It acts on sexual energy, desire, and erectile function. Its properties are attributed to two of its active components: macacenes and macamides. Consuming maca is also a good way to boost fertility.
Finally, besides its physical benefits, maca would also improve mental capabilities. As shown in this study, it allows for better concentration and helps to develop memory.
Where to buy maca?
Organic stores
Physical organic stores, such as Biocoop or La Vie Claire, have the advantage of offering organic maca. The latter is therefore grown without chemicals, without GMOs, and non-irradiated, in accordance with the specifications of organic farming.
Pharmacies and parapharmacies
Most pharmacies and parapharmacies offer maca alone, in capsules or tablets. It may also be combined with other plants and is included in dietary supplements for libido, alongside ginseng, ginger or tribulus.
Specialized physical shops
It is quite easy to find maca in specialized stores. Visit dietary supplement retailers, health food stores, or even Latin American grocery stores.
Online shops and specialized e-commerce
Many websites offer maca in all its forms. For organic maca, choose online organic stores like Kazidomi or La Fourche. Also, consider dietary supplement sellers like Onatera. Finally, some specialized laboratories offer it, such as Nutrimea or Natura Force.
In what form?
Powdered
Maca powder is obtained from dried tubers finely ground. It has a strong flavor and malty taste, similar to hazelnut. It is perfect in cooking for making sweet or savory recipes or smoothies. While this format is less nutrient-rich, it has the advantage of being convenient, easy to store, and consume.
In capsules and tablets
Unlike the powder, maca capsules and tablets have no taste. In addition, they are more concentrated in active ingredients and allow full advantage of the plant’s effectiveness.
In liquid extract
The liquid extract of maca is more difficult to find. It is derived from a hydro-alcoholic extraction of tubers. This format offers a high concentration of active ingredients and is better absorbed and digested than maca powder. It is available in bottles or as drinkable ampoules.
What are the criteria to consider?
1. Titration
The concentration of active ingredients is particularly important: the higher the titration, the better the effectiveness. A titration of 5:1 means, for example, that 5 kg of maca is needed to obtain the extract in question.
2. Variety
There are several varieties of maca, including yellow, red, and black maca. Their nutritional composition slightly differs. Yellow maca, which is the most common, is rich in vitamin C, while the red one contains more proteins and fibers. Black maca, on the other hand, stands out for its high vitamin B2, iron, and calcium content. It’s up to you to choose the variety that best meets your needs.
3. Production Method
To avoid pesticide and heavy metal residues in your dietary supplement, choose organic maca, certified AB or Euroleaf. By choosing this production method, you support environmentally-friendly agriculture.
4. Composition
Opt for a dietary supplement as natural as possible. Maca powder must be 100% pure. Capsules and tablets should be non-ionized and guaranteed free from additives, colorings, and preservatives. Lastly, preferably choose vegetable capsules.
5. Origin
China produces 10,000 tons of maca annually. However, it is of very poor quality, comes from GMO plants, and is grown with chemicals. Not to mention the increased risks of pollution and toxicity. That is why we advise you to choose Peruvian maca. Of high quality and rich in minerals, it is grown and harvested by local farmers. The maca from the Junin region is particularly prized.
What is its price?
Organic maca in capsules or tablets is sold between €12 and €15 for 200 capsules.
100% pure organic maca powder is offered at around €8 for 100g.
Finally, you should expect to pay approximately €10 for 30 ml of liquid maca extract.
To summarize
To ensure you choose quality maca, check:
- The titration: favor a concentration higher than 4:1
- The variety: choose between yellow, red, and black maca.
- The cultivation method: choose a product grown organically.
- The composition: choose a supplement without additives, preservatives, or colorings. The powder must be 100% pure and natural.
- The geographic origin: choose maca from Peru.
- The price: it should be between €12 and €15 for 200 capsules, around €8 for 100g of powder, and approximately €10 for 30 ml of liquid extract.
