Presentation of Aime Skincare
Aime is a brand offering dietary supplements focused on beauty goals (skin, hair, body) and to improve sleep. Its approach is holistic, or “in&out”, meaning it combines dietary supplements with cosmetics.
All supplements are made in France. The capsules are plant-based. Several ingredients are organic: cocoa powder, matcha powder from Cacao Glow, green matcha tea and aloe vera juice powder from Matcha Glow. The collagen used is of marine origin.
Some packaging is recyclable. This applies to pillboxes, glass bottles, and the Simple Cleanser packaging.

Products
Range
Aime offers:
- dietary supplements: capsules, oil, lotion, sticks, herbal blends.
- face care: serum, cream, gel, deodorant, perfume.
- accessories: water bottle, brush, measuring spoon, travel kit, pouch, bag.
I find the drinkable supplement formats Cacao glow and Matcha glow particularly original: these are powders based on collagen, cocoa or matcha to be diluted in hot water or plant-based milk.
Omega glow is also a unique format that deviates from traditional omega-based capsules. It can be used in cooking in various no-bake recipes.
Focus on Aime’s environmental commitment
Aime claims to source packaging (papers and cardboards) from responsibly managed forests. The brand has established a refill system for dietary supplements.
Aime donates 1% of its annual revenue to the NGO Planète Urgence via the “1% for the planet” project. This NGO is committed to protecting forests and preserving biodiversity. The company has, for example, contributed to the reforestation of tapias, endemic trees of Madagascar.
Our Test
Produit : ★★★★★
I tested several Aime products: the French glow (with 2 eco refills), the Omega glow, the Matcha glow, the Cacao glow, Sleep & glow, and Body elixir.
The products are well packed and protected in the parcel. The packaging is aesthetic. They are opaque and protect the products well from light.
Labels present the detailed composition of the products as well as usage advice. A flyer presents Aime’s mission along with nutritional tips: reducing the consumption of cow’s milk, sugar, etc…
I also have a leaflet on Omega glow and four recipe ideas using this supplement, like a hummus dip.
The French glow capsules have a neutral smell and are easy to swallow.
- The Omega glow has a color similar to olive oil. It can be consumed pure, but I find it interesting to use its strong aroma and taste in cooking: it adds a touch of originality to recipes. It is easily used to flavor a vinaigrette or hummus, for example.
- The Body elixir diluted in water is peach-colored. The bottle’s scent is reminiscent of pomegranate juice. In the mouth, I notice a bitterness upon tasting. Furthermore, the measuring cap is not very practical, as when screwing it back on, some elixir leaks onto the bottle.
- The Sleep & glow is liquid and light yellow in color. Pure, I found it bitter. It is easier to consume diluted in water.
- The Matcha glow and Cacao glow mix very well in hot water. Fans of green tea or matcha will not be surprised by the bitterness of the matcha glow. The cacao glow is smooth and its chocolate flavor is pleasant. To sweeten these drinks, you can use plant-based milk instead of water.
Price: ★★★★☆
The composition of Aime’s product line is unique. We did not find any product with similar formulations to make a precise price comparison.
However, we found a supplement similar to Matcha glow at Biocyte.
Matcha and collagen supplement
August 2021 | Aime (matcha glow) | Biocyte (collagen express) | D+ for care (collagen spirulina) |
collagen / day | 10 g | 10 g | 1.5 g |
price / g collagen | €0.24 | €0.48 | €2 |
The three brands use type 1 hydrolyzed collagen.
We notice that the price per gram of collagen is half as high at Aime as at Biocyte and eight times lower than at D+ for care.
Aime delivers worldwide: standard colissimo delivery to a mailbox is free with purchases of €60 or more in France. Otherwise, the fees are €4.90. Gifts are available with a certain purchase amount.
There are value-priced sets, for example, the set of 3 summer glow is priced at €80 instead of €90. The Perfect Tan Duo, which includes omega glow and summer glow, is €59 instead of €69.
It is possible to subscribe to receive supplements every month, allowing a 10% discount.
Aime also offers gift cards with a minimum amount of 30 euros.
The brand has a store in Paris in the 11th arrondissement. They are also available at Galeries Lafayette on the Champs-Elysées and in several Sephora stores.
Transparency: ★★★★☆
The product sheets present the detailed composition of the products, but Aime does not specify the origin of the ingredients of its dietary supplements.
For more transparency, Aime could mention the origin of the raw materials used in its formulations.
The product analysis certificates are not available on the website, but they are available upon request.
Aime was founded in 2018 by Mathilde Lacombe and François Morrier. Faced with skin issues (rosacea), Mathilde met Valérie Espinasse, a micronutritionist doctor and a pharmacist. The latter gave her advice on caring for her microbiota.
Mathilde holds a Master’s degree in Communication from Paris. She was a journalist for Elle magazine. François holds a master’s degree from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle (ENSCI) and ESCP Europe.
Before Aime, Mathilde and François co-founded the beauty startup Joliebox, which was later acquired by Birchbox.
When launching Aime, the founders raised €350,000 from business angels.
Expertise : ★★★☆☆
Each product sheet provides a detailed description of the action of the active ingredients in the supplements. But there is no mention of scientific sources.
The brand has a beauty guide that explores various themes around care and beauty such as “How to properly cleanse your facial skin” or “The benefits of collagen.”
In the FAQ tab, one can find a number of articles, like “I have hormonal acne, which supplement should I take?” or “I want a supplement to slow down skin aging.”
Upon closer inspection, it is evident that the founders of Aime and their team do not have a scientific background. But the company collaborates with health experts (micro-nutritionists and dietitians) for product formulation and ingredient sourcing.
According to Aime, its suppliers and development team ensure constant scientific monitoring.
The Glow studio in the 11th arrondissement of Paris is a space dedicated to comprehensive skin care. The treatments offered are for the face, hair, and body. An LED bar and naturopathy support are also available.
Popularity: ★★★★☆
I used the SemRush tool to analyze the traffic of Aime’s website. In August 2021, the site totaled organic traffic of over 25,000 unique visitors. Which is in the average range compared to other supplement brands.
On social networks, Aime has nearly 2,300 followers on Facebook and over 98,000 followers on Instagram. This demonstrates the strong notoriety of the brand and its co-founder, whose personal Instagram account is followed by more than 132,000 fans.
On the Sephora site, the products with the most reviews are Pure Glow (rated 4.1 from 16 reviews) and French Glow (rated 4.3 from 9 reviews). The top ratings highlight the effectiveness of the products and the ease of use of the supplements.
Trust: ★★★★★
Customer service is available by phone and email.
I contacted customer service by email to ask the following questions:
- Are all the packaging recyclable?
- Does the tyndallization process of probiotics affect their efficacy?
- Where do the cocoa and maca in cocoa glow come from?
- Should I adjust my caffeine intake (tea, coffee) when taking cocoa or matcha glow?
- Which plant-based milk do you recommend for diluting matcha and cocoa Glow?
- Are the product analysis certificates available upon request? For example, that of French glow?
- Where does the root of ashwagandha in sleep & glow come from? Does taking matcha or cocoa glow (caffeine) risk reducing its effect?
Here are the answers I received:
I received clear and precise answers very quickly (in less than two days) to my questions.
The manufacturing of the supplements is done in France.
The laboratories are certified ISO 22000, (implementation of a food safety management system) and HACCP (food safety methods).
