Introduction to Amoseeds

The brand

Amoseeds is a young French brand located in Franche-Comté, created in August 2019 by Loïc Dibon and Boris Schottey. It specializes in selling superfoods aimed at anyone looking to optimize their well-being and health. 

The name Amoseeds is a nod to their very first marketed product: chia seeds produced in Mexico. It is a blend of the word “amo” (‘I love’ in Spanish) and “seeds” (in English).

Concerned about the quality of their products, the founders directly source from producers worldwide, ensuring true traceability.

All their products are pure, organic, additive-free, preservative-free, and grown in their natural environments to offer optimal nutritional values.

Recently, to meet growing customer demand and facilitate daily intake, the brand is expanding its range by offering dietary supplements in the form of vegan capsules of organic superfood extracts. 

Amoseeds allowed me to discover a multitude of superfoods I was unaware of. It made me want to deepen my knowledge of their benefits.

Produits : ★★★★★

I received the products within 48 hours in a well-sealed box. Everything was well protected by kraft paper. A minor downside on the presentation, a flyer introducing the brand or a small note would have been welcome.

The brand’s positioning is clear: quality and no frills. 

The products are packaged in resealable kraft bags or recyclable bottles for the capsules. 

All information about the product is extremely clear. You will find the product description, its benefits, how and for how long to use it, as well as the country of origin. There is also a photo of a recipe to be found on the brand’s website. 

I had the chance to test 3 superfoods: Hojicha tea, rosehip powder, and black maca in capsules.

Organic Hojicha Tea

Japanese green tea roasted like coffee, it has relaxing properties due to the presence of L-theanine, an amino acid. Unlike other teas, it contains very little caffeine.

Easy to use, just mix a spoonful with hot water.

But what about the taste? 

It was a real discovery for me, I loved its woody taste and toasted bread aroma. Additionally, I felt a calming effect upon consumption. 

It is recommended to consume 1 to 2g per day for optimal effectiveness.

Organic Rosehip

Berry with anti-inflammatory properties extremely rich in vitamin C. It contains many antioxidants and protective flavonoids and carotenoids. Its taste is slightly tart and not very sweet. 

It is advised to mix the powder with water, fruit juice, or yogurt. Personally, I choose to consume it with my yogurt at breakfast because I find that the powder does not mix well in water.

The vitamin C dosage is extremely interesting since 1 teaspoon provides 20 mg of vitamin C, almost 1/5th of the daily needs. 

Black maca extract capsules

Maca is a tuber that grows between 4000 and 5000 meters altitude! It has many recognized benefits, especially on energy, stress, and fertility. 

Having a strong and bitter taste, it is not always easy to consume daily, which is why concentrated capsules are a good alternative. Of normal size, they are dosed at 500 mg of black maca extract and are easy to swallow.

A 500 mg maca extract capsule represents 5 g of maca powder (10:1 extract). 

Therefore, the 2 capsules per day recommended by Amoseeds represent 10 g of maca.

Given this very significant dosage, I recommend that individuals suffering from metabolic disorders and/or hypertension consult their doctor before consuming at this dosage.

You’ll notice that at equal quality, Amoseeds is a bit more expensive than its competitor Sunday Natural, but the capsules are more potent.

On the other hand, Amoseeds is much cheaper than Natura Force and offers better concentration.

For rosehip powder, Amoseed is at a median price compared to its competitors Nu3 and Koro. It’s also the only one fortified with vitamin C, which is a guarantee of quality and a sign of low-temperature processing. 

Amoseeds ships worldwide, shipping fees are variable and free for orders over 35€ in mainland France and Belgium at pickup points and 50 euros for home delivery.

Returns and refunds are possible, however, the return costs are the responsibility of the customer. 

There are advantageous packages grouping 3 to 4 products with particular themes (slimming, immunity, sports…). The discount is equivalent to 10%.

A loyalty program is in place, provided you have a customer account. 1 euro spent earns 1 point. Points can be exchanged for discounts (100 points = 5 euros).

A referral program allows you to get 10% for your referral and a 5 euro discount voucher per person referred.

With Amoseeds you know exactly from which country the superfood comes, but you don’t always know the region and supplier. Each batch is third-party tested to ensure the quality and purity of the product. 

Unfortunately, the certificates of analysis are not available in the product sheets. Moreover, the laboratory and location of quality analysis are not mentioned. However, I was able to obtain this information by asking customer service. 

AB certification, more rigorous than European organic certification, is a real plus and a guarantee of quality.

I was able to talk with Boris Schottey, one of the brand’s creators. He told me the story of Amoseeds and described their values. They wholeheartedly aim to make high-quality superfoods available to as many people as possible at a fair price.

They also wish to contribute to the employment and development of their territory (Belfort).

Each product sheet details the nutritional composition of the product and for which issue it can be used. It also includes the usage advice and complementary products that can be added to optimize results.

On the website, you can take a quiz that helps us know which superfoods might be beneficial for us regarding our issues (stress, sleep, digestion…)

There are also delicious recipes that make using superfoods easy on a daily basis.

On social media, the brand totals more than 19,000 followers on Facebook and 14,000 followers on Instagram (December 2021), which is few compared to other brands offering this kind of products.

On the Trustpilot site, there are almost 2,135 reviews. The average rating is 4.5/5. Most of the comments are positive and highlight the fast shipping, product quality, and the friendliness of customer service.

Amoseeds is very active on Amazon. All products are rated between 4 and 5 stars. Most comments mention the quality of the products.

I sent my questions on a Saturday and received a response in less than 48 hours.

My questions were about the location and name of the laboratory for superfood analysis, as well as the difference between maca powder and maca capsules.

I found the answers to be clear and precise.

The products are packaged in France in Franche-Comté, they are all organic and have the double AB and European organic certification validated by Bureau Veritas (a company specializing in inspection and certification).
