- Glucosamine and chondroitin: Often associated for their synergistic effectiveness, both are involved in maintaining cartilage in synovial joints.

Collagen is a protein found only in humans and the animal kingdom. Although some plants can promote its production in the body, there is no direct plant source of collagen.
