Anastore is an online dietary supplement brand founded in December 2000.

Their dietary supplements are manufactured in France and Belgium. The supplements are non-irradiated or ionized. 

Most supplements are non-GMO, lactose-free, and colorant-free, and the capsules are almost all plant-based. They are therefore suitable for many restrictive diets. 

The jar and blister pack packaging are recyclable. Anastore mentioned studying the possibility of offering 100% recyclable pouches.

The brand offers a few organic certified supplements such as cranberry, acerola, red ginseng, or hemp seeds.

Focus on the sub-brands “Powder, nothing but Plants” and “Hévéa, l’infini végétal”

The Anastore group has launched several sub-brands of dietary supplements. 

Hevea for example is dedicated to aromatherapy products with essential oils (lemon, ginger, etc.). But also vegetable oils (jojoba, coconut), lotions, and other serums based on rose water and orange blossom water, for example. 

Hevea is committed to guaranteeing the quality of raw materials by practicing sampling and conducting tests (smell, flavor, color).

“Powder, nothing but plants” is another sub-brand of the group dedicated to superfoods. It offers powders, seeds like quinoa, berries, such as goji, or whole spices and tea. 

Our test

Produit : ★★★★☆

I tested several Anastore products: organic hemp oil with CBD, organic ginseng, and ashwagandha.

I received a package containing well-packed and protected products, with a trim in the brand’s colors. The packaging of the capsules is white and opaque and does not let light through. 

The CBD oil is wrapped in cardboard packaging. The bottle is elegant and equipped with a dosing pipette.

The hemp oil packaging is accompanied by the analysis certificate and a brief presentation of the laboratory’s philosophy.

From an olfactory point of view, the ginseng and ashwagandha capsules have a neutral smell. They are easy to swallow with a glass of water. 

The hemp oil is yellow/green. It is clear and has a hazelnut-like odor and flavor.

Prix : ★★★☆☆

I compared in the following tables the price of garcinia cambogia and red ginseng from Anastore with that of several competitors. It turns out that the brand is generally more expensive than its competitors at equivalent dosage.

The price per gram of hydroxycitric acid (AHC) is higher at Anastore than at Nutrimea or Dynveo.

The price per gram of ginsenosides is higher at Anastore than at Dynveo and Nutrixeal.

The prices are decreasing for some products with a 3 + 1 free offer.

There is a “satisfied or refunded” guarantee if the received products are in poor condition, not as ordered, or if they do not meet expectations.

A loyalty program allows you to accumulate points as orders are made and to convert them into discount vouchers. The larger the orders (in number and amount), the more value the points have.

Transparence : ★★★☆☆

In the product sheets, Anastore specifies the batch number, country of manufacture, and certificate of analysis. The content of active ingredients is also well mentioned.

However, there is no mention of the country of origin or the source area of the raw materials used in the supplements. Except for certain products in the Hévéa range. 

For example, borage seeds come from China, clove from Madagascar, and black cumin seeds from Egypt. Nevertheless, Anastore provides this information only upon client request.

In a spirit of transparency, Anastore could specify the origin of all raw materials used in the product sheets. The brand also does not specify its raw material suppliers. 

The background and identity of the founders have not been communicated to us despite our request.

Each product sheet presents the benefits of the supplement, detailed composition with the ingredients used. Scientific claims and a detailed usage guide accompany them.

On the Anastore blog, you’ll find many articles categorized by topic, such as “digestion”, “energy”, “immune system”. You can thus read an article on “10 benefits of magnesium” or “Acerola, the fruit that helps prevent fatigue”. 

Scientific studies are mentioned in these articles. The content is written by a team consisting of a pharmacist/writer and two journalists specializing in health and nutrition.

The product/quality team consists of health experts (pharmacist, botanist, nutritionist, biologist, and chemist). 

You can subscribe to the brand’s newsletter to receive promotions, discover new products, and have a focus on certain scientific discoveries in health.

I used the Similarweb tool to analyze the traffic to the Anastore France website. In June 2021, the site had more than 107,000 unique visitors, which is particularly high for a supplements e-commerce site. 

On social networks, Anastore has 956 followers on Facebook and 223 followers on Instagram (Sept. 2021) – which is less than most of its competitors.

On the Trustpilot site, Anastore has more than 10,000 reviews. The average rating is 4.7 / 5. Positive comments highlight fast delivery, good value for money, and product effectiveness. 

On the Amazon platform, Anastore’s references are found. Sublingual melatonin and organic red ginseng gather many reviews, 803 and 218 respectively. The most favorable reviews emphasize the quality and beneficial action of the products.

I contacted customer service to ask them the following questions:

• For using CBD oil as an anti-inflammatory, what is the dosage? And when should oral intake be favored? 
• What is the country of origin of the hemp used in the formulation?
• What is the country of origin of the organic red ginseng?
• Should red ginseng be favored over your white ginseng for a treatment? What is the content of ginsenosides in white ginseng powder?
• Are the packaging materials recyclable?

I received very quickly (in less than a day) detailed and precise answers to my questions. 

The products are manufactured in France and Belgium. The organic products have European organic certification. 

The laboratories comply with HACCP standards / GMP.
